LANSING, MI — State regulators are allowing 48 more anchor supports on the Line 5 oil and gas pipeline crossing the Straits of Mackinac.
The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality announced the permitting approval in a press release Tuesday, Dec. 4.
The 48 anchors will minimize the potential for any unsupported spans of pipeline greater than 75 feet, according to the release.
