In 2001, mysterious sinkholes were discovered in northern Lake Huron. They’ve attracted researchers from around the world. But how much water comes through the sinkholes? What role do they play in determining how lake levels rise and fall? That’s what Steve Ruberg’s, observing systems researcher with NOAA’s Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory research team is trying to find out.
