E.P.A. Announces Repeal of Major Obama-Era Carbon Emissions Rule

On Tuesday Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt announced the agencies intention to sign a measure to repeal President Barack Obama’s policy to curb greenhouse gas emissions from power plants.

At a Monday event in eastern Kentucky, Pruitt sighted his predecessors departure from regulatory standards in writing the Clean Power Plan, which would have pushed states away from coal in favor of sources of electricity that produce fewer carbon emissions as the rational for his decision….
