Years ago, Dexter Patterson, also known as @WiscoBirder, saw a video of an osprey hunting for fish. From that moment, he was hooked on birding. Since then, he has published a birding guide, co-founded the BIPOC Birding Club of Wisconsin, and helped spread the spirit of “bird joy” to new and experienced birders alike.
We spoke with Dexter about his book and what makes the Great Lakes a special place for birders.
