It’s been an unusually mild fall so far, and winter still feels far away. But the snow will be here before you know it! To remind you what the stuff looks like, and how beautiful it is here in the Great Lakes, we’re revisiting two videos from our Great Lakes Bureau archives that feature northern Great Lakes forests during the winter and discuss the importance of preserving them and the deep connections that Michiganders in particular have to them.

This video details the importance of developing extensive land management plans that will help ensure the long-term conservation of our forests. The video also explains what the public can do to help preserve forests.

One man shares his experiences growing up and working in Michigan’s northern forests.
