Water / Justice “This is what democracy looks like…”

From Great Lakes Bureau Chief Mary Ellen Geist: For the past six months, Detroit Public Television’s Great Lakes Bureau has been traveling throughout the Great Lakes Region filming several documentaries.  One of them called “Tapping the Great Lakes”is about water withdrawal. It lead us to a conference called “Water is Life”in Flint, Michigan this fall. We interviewed experts, activists and residents who talked about many water-related issues – everything from the tragedy of poisoned water in Flint, to the dilemma involving Nestle’s bottled water operation, to the landmark decision involving Waukesha, Wisconsin’s water source to the Line 5 Pipeline in the Straits of Mackinac. Here is a compilation of that conference:

 

 

Detroit Public Television’s Great Lakes Bureau’s documentary “Tapping the Great Lakes” will be shown on DPTV at the end of February. We’ll keep you posted on the date and time
